We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This position will report directly to the Director, Finance & Accounting.
The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement with Tuesdays and Wednesdays being in-office days, plus the first Monday of each month to align with all staffing meetings.
The Senior Accountant at Human Branding plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. This individual will own the full accounting cycle — from month-end close and financial statement preparation to tax compliance and procurement oversight — ensuring that Human Branding’s financial operations run seamlessly.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Manage full-cycle accounting including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support multi-entity operations in Canada and the U.S., maintaining chart of accounts and accounting policies
Conduct period-over-period analysis and variance commentary to support management insights
Own month-end and year-end close processes, coordinating with external accountants and ensuring timely completion
Oversee finance operations, including AR, AP, cash flow forecasting, vendor payments, and revenue recognition
Ensure tax compliance with HST/GST returns, income tax installments, and regulatory filings
Provide procurement oversight, approving expenditures and reviewing vendor agreements
Maintain and optimize financial systems (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite), ensuring data integrity and workflow efficiency
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system enhancement
Collaborate cross-functionally, providing guidance to internal teams and acting as the go-to accounting resource
Contribute to strategic projects as directed by the Director, including ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Requirements
Education & Experience
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA designation is strongly preferred
Experience
5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
Minimum 2 years in a senior-level or standalone accounting role with ownership of the full accounting cycle
Experience managing a full-cycle accounting function, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
Experience working in a multi-entity environment (Canada and U.S.) is strongly preferred
Experience within a professional services or consulting environment is considered an asset
Technical Requirements
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred; Sage or NetSuite considered an asset)
Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience with HST/GST filings and regulatory compliance processes
Comfortable learning, optimizing, and implementing financial systems and digital tools, including AI-enabled platforms
Additional Requirements
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Ability to work in a hybrid structure (in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and the first Monday of each month in Toronto)
Valid passport with ability to travel occasionally, if required
Fluent in written and verbal English
